Hey guys.

Playing online poker again is a lot of fun, but I guess I am a little rusty.

First hand I have no idea how to play this on the flop, which probably means I should have folded or raised pre:

GG Poker - $0.02 NL FAST (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BTN: 35 BB
SB: 77.5 BB
BB: 108 BB
UTG: 100 BB
MP: 109 BB
Hero (CO): 102 BB

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has 2 4

fold, MP raises to 2.5 BB, Hero calls 2.5 BB, fold, SB calls 2 BB, fold

Flop: (8.5 BB, 3 players) T 2 3
SB bets 1 BB, MP raises to 10 BB, Hero ?

Second hand felt weird, it's not an insta fold imo, and pot odds are pretty good. What would you do here?

GG Poker - $0.02 NL FAST (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BTN: 123.5 BB
Hero (SB): 100 BB
BB: 141.5 BB
UTG: 82.5 BB
MP: 127.5 BB
CO: 165 BB

Hero posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has K K

fold, fold, CO raises to 2 BB, fold, Hero raises to 9 BB, fold, CO calls 7 BB

Flop: (19 BB, 2 players) 5 2 7
Hero bets 14.5 BB, CO calls 14.5 BB

Turn: (48 BB, 2 players) 9
Hero bets 24 BB, CO calls 24 BB

River: (96 BB, 2 players) T
Hero checks, CO bets 117.5 BB and is all-in, Hero ?

Thanks in advance!

Hand 1

Preflop

Easy fold. I would look into finding some preflop calling charts.

Flop

You have good equity. I'm not sure whether calling or raising is better, tbh, but personally, I'd be inclined to raise.

HAND 1

As the above poster said, easy fold pre. You can maybe defend it in the BB or open it from the button against tight blinds, but that's about it.

I would raise and try to get it in. Play this hand as fast as possible. These pair + draw hands have way more equity than people think. The reason you want to play this hand fast is that you are a favorite against a higher draw because of the pair in your hand. You are also a 52-48 favorite against an overpair. The only thing that you don't want to see is a set, but even then you have 30% equity.

HAND 2

It's a classic steal situation, where the cutoff knows that you don't have a flush and is trying to represent one, or has one and is making it look steal-y with the big bet. You only have to be right a little over 1/3 of the time, so if you think it's 50/50 it's a clear call. But I would rely on opponent reads/stats for my decision.

Great, thanks you two.

I did shove all in on the flop in hand 1, my thinking was exactly the same as yours, Life. I have a lot of equity against a lot of hands, and this is really terrible to play on the turn if I don't hit anything. Obviously not the best spot to be in in the first place, so this is a fold pre from now on. He did have pocket tens for top set, but that happens.

Hand two I thought he either had the flush or didn't, other hands that beat me impossible, so I did call for 1:3 pot odds. He did have Aces, which is one of the reasons why I posted this hand. Gotta chalk that one up to bad player with a bad all in on the river, right?
