So the BB was a standard 22/17. I continuation bet about about 60% of the time, but I dont know if this player knows this.

Anyway, I called the flop reraise to see what the turn was and didn't want to scare him away with a 4 bet. Obviously the turn is not a great card for me, but I am extremely suspicious of his turn bet. To me at the time it seemed like quite a large bet and also a scared bet, and I did not put him on a flush.

(Side Q: I wonder whether he would bet or check/raise if he had made the flush on the turn??)

With my time bank almost running out I spaz shove i guess ( Im pretty certain that if I had atleast a minute or two to think about it I would have just mucked, rather then 30 seconds!).

Anyway - thoughts on the hand? I think I probably should have just called the turn bet with the view of shoving the river if he checked to me. Otherwise I would fold to any river bet. (But Im not sure if this is a great line to take...seems like a losing strategy in the long term to call 3bet on flop, call turn bet and fold to any river bet).

OR, the other option is I should have folded to the turn bet, although I guess my instincts were right about it being a slightly scared bet? Long story short i think the hand should have been over on the turn in hindsight as I can't beat much...

    Input please

    a) You would be 3betting flop. Not 4betting It goes bet-raise-3bet. On preflop the big blind is the bet.
    b) Turn bet isn't that small or large. And why large would look like scared bet? More like "I have good hand, please give me value" bet when it comes from average uNL player. Especially after flop c/r.

Unless you have reason to think he's tricky FPS'er he'll always bet made flush on turn. Checking gives chance for opponent to check back Ax hands like AxKh. Practically nobody(if any) floats check raise to bluff if checked to. Particulary because you don't get that check often. I have precicely once gone for double check raise and that was with set.

And yeah turn should be fold. What you beat there? A5 and that's about it but I wouldn't be suprised A5 to check turn because that would have reason to worry. Guys don't generally go random check raising with Ax one pairs or worse or gutshots so either he had 2 pair(Q5 being extremely unlikely you are beating A5 which is unlikely due to turn action and AQ you are splitting), sets or flushdraws that just got there. If turn had been non-heart then it would be worse idea to fold as he still could have flushdraw and you still have outs against sets(barring extremely unlikely AA) even if he happens to have it.

edit: Also if he did c/r with gutshot KJ just got there too...Sure if he c/r gutshots he can have JT and KT as well but a) would they bet turn b) they won't likely CALL shove so you aren't exactly valueraising there...And hands that are better than yours won't fold.

Yeah, I was just confirming my daft move. I think I'll put it down to a random spaz move. Its a standard fold in hindsight but I think i needed more then the allotted time available to do it. Oops lol

Bet more on the flop, and especially with this stacksize, fistpump shove all-in after his check/raise.

    Also: make it bigger pre.
