HUD hadn't even appeared for villain yet so he's completely unknown.

Was this how it should be played? I was planning on calling him down after his flop raise but his huge bet on turn made me think there are better spots to invest than this

Playing out of position blows w/o initiative in a limp pot. Muck it or raise and get initiative pre. I like flatting a little more if this were suited As played, I fold the flop since I am in an awful spot on turns and rivers without reads (and even with reads I hate it)

Pre is marginal but not terrible if your good post flop. I would just fold flop. Opponents at these stakes don't fight hard enough for limped pots and usually a raise or strong move in a MW limped pot means 2pair+

The problem here is that you are 5-way to the flop with a marginal hand, no initiative, and OOP to everyone. I fold this preflop.

I think I play it the same...

Folding pre might be best indeed, sure you get very nice odds but you just don't flop that great often enough. Now you have TP and are still in a tough spot.

As played I think I bet flop as well, the board is too nasty to let it check through multiway but I fold after the raise. Too many nasty cards and it's not a hand I wish to play too big a pot with (and we're OOP)
