Just slightly less fish. As in less 60/5/1 stats. Should still be playing the same style as 2NL.

Herein lies part of the problem. You just can't make generalizations about a level. If you want your game to improve, you need to start making table and individual reads. They will be more important to you than an average 5nl player is 3 percentage points tighter than a 2nl player in VPIP (I made that number up).

The only big difference I've noticed is that at 5nl, most people are trying to win, compared to 2nl where even I've been known to play a session with a VPIP of 100% in the CO and BTN just for practice. Lots of people play drunk spew poker at 2nl. That far less common at 5nl.

Actually, knowing that you buy in full and play at Stars,
the biggest immediate difference for you will be that at 5NL you are playing 100BB deep instead of 250BB deep. This will immediately change the value of the blinds, and which hands to commit your stack.
