Hi new here just had a question about stealing from the cutoff as instead of the button. I find at 5NL i have more luck stealing from this position instead of the button. I also widen my range 2 almost any two for this play.
Is this is a stupid play?

Depends on the seats behind you. The reasoning is that the better your pre flop position, the fewer unknowns you have behind you. Raising with any two may be profitable if you've got two nits sitting behind you...but two calling stations and you need to tighten up your range.
You might get more respect from a raise in the CO but again that's dependent on the opponents.

Full ring you want to steal 30-35% from LP which is Hi-Jack, CO, and BTN. progressively wider ranges.

Yeah i think my steal rate is around that. I mostly find that that the rocks behind me fold to steals but also the fish give more respect here and ive lost quite a few $ in Blind steal attempts from fish who will spite shove any 2.

1. if your in the co & btn is tight and blinds are tight then u can steal with any two cards
2. if btn is tight but blinds are stations you cant steal any two but cause we will be playing 100bb i.p vs them we can open s.c as they will fold postflop with cbets + have the ability to stack off by hitting big n them calling too light when they do hit
3. when blinds are short you want to reduce the suited connectors u open from in the co or btn unless they are just folding everything or 3betting n not 3betting much... but alot of them play short n still flat too much so yea the implied odds not there for such hands even i.p
