Standard raise amounts Standard raise amounts

I was hoping to get a general discussion going regarding standard PFR amounts for NL50, though I'd imagine it will apply to multiple stake levels...

I've seen a lot of people who tend to raise to 1.75 (ie: 3.5bb) and a lot of them who tend to raise to 2 (4bb) every time they open-raise preflop. Is one standard PFR amount better than the other for certain types of players? Has anyone seen a thorough mathematic analysis/discussion of this? It seems like this is such an important bet and gets repeated so many times that I haven't spent nearly enough time thinking about my sizing.

Also, I always tend to raise to a "standard amount" in order to prevent people from inferring things about my hands based on my PFR bet sizing (obviously in lieu of any strong opponent specific information, like the guy to my right will limp-call any raise I make). Does anyone disagree with this, and if so how do you tend to size your raises?

Not positive that this is in the right forum, I don't have any kind of "example hand" to post here, but please point me in the right direction if it's not and I'll repost there.

Thanks.

I like 4bb+1bb per limper. Only exception is the button I like 3.5bb if unopened.

It really depends. 3x, 3.5x, 4x.. it's all personal preference.
