This was a 50/50 loose/tight table so I even though I should have led out I felt like limp set mining.

I felt like the flop actually hit me pretty good and villian could easily have raised with AK or 88. My only real worry is that his hand could involve a big diamond drastically reducing my outs.

I only did it cuz he's a chronic 3 bet type. Doesn't play a lot of hands and is very aggressive when he does, but it doesn't mean he has the nuts. He could have had pocket 2's LOL.

Yeah but you're missing a point. The weaker his range the worse off you are setmining.

Why? Because if you do hit your set the chances that he has a strong hand are less.

If you hit a set on a standard board would you rather opponent had AA or 22?
AA you get the money most of the time. 22 you almost always don't.

And he might have 22, but you're not planning to call it off with 99 on typical boards in a 3-bet pot I assume?
