hi guys

been a long time since I posted so please bear with me.

Villain is 37.5/33.33 , 3bet of 29% over insignificant sample size of 24 hands.

I don't like my preflop call of the 3b that much, but his 3b range on the button is obv very wide, and he's 3 betting almost all opens since he sat down. I'm oop though to a maniac with a small pocket pair, not ideal. in hindsight I think there are much better spots, but I'm still needing to work on my small pocket pair play.

I checked back the flop,if I had bet it i I don't think he folds the gut shot, but given how wide he is opening perhaps a small c/probe bet was in order?

the turn bet was an attempt to take it down right away. No raise which i misread and weighted toward a draw, or a middling hand wanting to get to showdown cheaply.

I know I donked this river poorly, and for totally the wrong amount. I prefer a value amount here of maybe 1/2 pot or even slightly less?

I hate my call of the AI here. I was so mixed up between him having AK for top 2, or QK, or 9Ts for the missed flush. I felt like a lot of two pairs and busted draws show up here and all his bluffs, so is it a bet-fold? or is the sane line check/call to avoid the river raise in the first place. If he jams, then what? How close is this call really?

Your advice appreciated.
Cheers,
Max

What 3bet? Unless the HH is bugged or I need to go to bed immediately rather than browse 2p2, you limp/called.

Raise behind if you want to play, otherwise you're capped and BB often sees a flop for free (CO too in this hand!).

It's not that later streets in this hand are uninteresting, but preflop seems very misplayed to me.

preflop is fine, you can raise you can limp behind, both options are fine. Your turn bet is very bad, don't do that, just give up with this hand.

As played, most players are not that bad to raise 2 pairs and will not bluff this at all. Like, you have to expect BTN not to cbet some kind of draw on the flop where board is super good for him and then to call turn and raise river, it's not going to happen

I don't like turn, the chances someone has a better hand than you that is calling are really high here...the fish might call you with a weak pair.

River is a cooler imo

fold pre the first time (limp), second time (BTN iso)
check/fold turn
check/call river may be 1/2 pot
