Had a situation, pfr, flop cbet on a **** board for me cbetting to make other lower pp fold, he calls I give up, but the river J completes all flush and straights but what could he have had really? I think I talked myself into what I did in the river but really dont like it, I just thought what reasonable cards could he have that beat me here. Stupid mind at work

You should think a bit about it. You can't make money in poker when forcing worse hands to fold.

As played, I think river is a fold here. It's a PSB on board that has one card to a straight and the flush draw on the flop just completed. The opponent has shown no aggression until now so good chance he was on a draw.

You typically bet to either fold out stronger hands as a bluff or to value bet your strong hand, not to fold weaker hands.

In this hand it's possible to fold out something like KJ or KT, but you're probably better off just checking the flop. If you call one of heads up, that's not bad, but fold to a turn bet for sure.
