Preflop: Hero CO ($9.61) opens 3x with A
K
, only BU ($11.90) calls.
Flop (~$0.36): K
Q
3
. Hero cbet $0.13, BU calls.
Turn (~$0.61): 8
. Hero bets $0.40, BU calls.
River (~$1.36): 5
. Hero checks, BU bets $1.36.
The flop seems standard to bet my entire range from EP/MP, less sure about CO. On the turn, I can still get value from a lot of hands.
I feel like I messed up the river by check/calling. Checking doesn't make a ton of sense unless people are often bluffing in this spot. As played, this is clearly a better call than something like KJ without a heart, but that might not matter much here. My guess is I occasionally miss value from worse hands and get owned the same as if I bet/fold this.
At these stakes is it ever better to check than bet a thin value hand OOP? (e.g. in this case, someone might fold KT but bet it when checked to?)
