River CR bluff. Good or no good? River CR bluff. Good or no good?

Hero and Villain are 100 BB deep. No real history, but Villain does not seem ******ed. HU

Hero is dealt 33 in BB. Villain raises to 35. Hero calls.

Flop: 8 6 8. Hero checks. Villain bets 55. Hero calls.

Turn: 9. Hero checks. Villain checks.

River: A Hero checks. Villain bets 120. Hero CR AI.

Questions:

Do we like this better if the flop was 8 6 8:?

Do we like this better if the flop was 8 6 8 and the River was an A?

The answer to both I assume is yes.

i assume this is 5/10? maybe 100bb deep hu don't call 35 with 33. i guess flop is ok, i don't know how often you can assume he's gonna check back two more streets and there aren't many non-3 happy cards for ya. on river, as played, he has an ace a lottt and his first instinct is gonna be to get suspicious and look you up, if you think he's repping the ace, he's doing it without showdown value, call, no need to c/r.

meh, it's reasonable in a lot of ways, but a lot of people will look you up light here. so in reality, it depends.

def yes to both. And meh to your hand. idk how many ppl fold an A here (which is what he has, or you're probably winning). I don't like it really, just looks too fishy

don't hate the river (raising to about 500 is probably better though) but the flop is terribad, your equity vs all of his range sucks and you're facing 2 more streets oop with a very weak hand

So what's your default on this flop? And what's the alternative to default and why/when?

i think check raising the flop is optimal.

What do you like doing on flop and why?

What if I was in position on flop? Now is a Call>Raise>fold?

fold b/c your equity vs all of his range sucks and you're facing 2 more streets oop with a very weak hand.

So its bad calling against his range, so we're advocating CR or leading right?

I don't mind this line, but just the board texture, you will get looked up a lot, since you are really repping 8 or better, and not as many combos you could have compared to a lot of other boards and wacky hand combos.

Since I think an ace looks you up at least a decent % of the time, I actually think a call on the river here might be better...but i certainly don't mind your play
