I've read these terms before but never really understood what they meant. The contexts I've heard them in pertained to HU hyper sngs and HU cash games.

Can someone please clarify what it means to "share lobbies", "battle for lobbies" and what the benefits are?

playing (or not) other regs to be able to open sit the lobbies. generally ppl battle it out if they have an edge or think they can force the other player out. if regs are evenly matched enough they'll end up sharing/rotating who gets to sit etc.

sharing = player A consider player B of equal or almost equal skill so that the rake will butcher them both if they battled. So they share lobby. (Even in almost equal skill - instances warring will occurr, out of spite or other reasons, like "i can keep doing this for eternity im more rolled than you" type of argument thinking that in the end it will be beneficial to force the other guy out)

Battle for lobbies / warring = Player A consider Player B to be a bad player / worse than him and unworthy of sharing the lobby with him, so he will play him until he stop sitting, either with a positive roi, or positive winrate(with rakeback) or just losing way less than the other oponent, i.e. almost breaking even after rakeback which means the other guy is losing alot until he is forced out.

This leads to the next word cartels, a big group of ppl sharing, a hefty amount of players of "equal" skill sharing lobby.
