I was obviously a bit shocked by this river bet. AA or KK would have been a reraise pre so I don't think those were a possibility... this a standard fold?

Looks like it could be a slowplayed set. Has he slowplayed strong hands in the past?

I don't have any experience @ 2NL, but I would call this river against a 34/4 (even though 26 hands is a really small sample, it is still large enough to give us a strong clue that villian is bad). The 5 seems to be a blank, so I think villian has a flopped set, 2pr (most likely 9T IMO), a busted flush draw or a hand that he thinks is good like ATo or something. Considering I would have shoved river myself if given the opportunity I shrug/call.

I call. He may be showing up with a busted flush draw for sure. The all in with a busted draw is a typical micro move. I would never put him on a straight. I do not see a set slow play here, I believe if he had a set here he would have popped you with the c/r on the turn as a trap move. Micro players love the fancy trap.

Grunch.

I like how you played the hand. This river shove is rarely anything less than a set, especially w the villain stats you provided. You are not yet pot committed, so fold. For every time it's a bluff there will be 9 times where you are totally crushed.

You played this hand very well, but the donk made a bad call preflop and sucked out in you. Part of winning consistently at these stakes is being able to lay down tptk and over pair hands in exactly this type of spot. Donks don't make big river bluffs.

Generally speaking when a passive player does this he has better than TPTK. However given that he can only bet pot on the river due to his stack size I wouldn't fault you for calling in this situation. As long as he's not a nit you're good here often enough to profit. If the situation occurred with larger stack sizes and he over bet shoved the river I would definitely say fold.

Bet more on flop and turn and river is easy.
