Full Tilt Poker $0.05/$0.10 No Limit Hold'em - 9 players
The Official 2+2 Hand Converter Powered By DeucesCracked.com

SB: $10.00
Hero (BB): $10.15
UTG: $11.30
UTG+1: $21.57
UTG+2: $10.50
MP1: $7.53
MP2: $2.48
CO: $11.47
BTN: $43.71

Pre Flop: ($0.15) Hero is BB with 7 8
6 folds, BTN raises to $0.35, 1 fold, Hero raises to $1, BTN calls $0.65

Flop: ($2.05) J 5 K (2 players)
Hero bets $1.30, BTN calls $1.30

Turn: ($4.65) J (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN checks

River: ($4.65) Q (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN checks

BTN is 8/7 over 74, 90% fold to re-steal PF.

After the flop call I put him on AK, KQ, AA, and an unlikely KK, JJ. So most of his range is one pair. So on the turn he's probably on two pair. I believe he's capable of folding that to a shove, and I would like to push him out instead of giving up like I did. My range includes AJ, KJ, QJ, and it might be better represented with a shove on the turn, but some river cards could give me a wider range including a flush or straight, making my shove perhaps more believable, and he isn't likely to improve. Should I shove on the turn or river?

heh, don't 3-bet the 8/7. He's basically an empty seat that raises once every other orbit. So basically if you leave him alone, he's losing money to the table.

When he calls, you pretty much can't get him to fold anything.

just fold pre oop, so you don't have to consider bluffing a nit out of a 3bet pot on a KJx board lol... its spew after spew after spew

I don't understand. Isn't a nit someone who will rarely enter pots and fold post flop way too often? Or do they generally see it to the end once they decide to enter?

I think nit is used more often to describe PF tightness.

People who rarely enter pots are frequently people who will see it to the end, because their entire reason for rarely entering pots is so they can assure themselves of having the best hand. When they put that much effort into it, they hate to be told that no, opponent sucked out this time. And thus they aren't going to believe it when they are told. That makes it hard to bluff them.

Makes sense, thanks!

Do you find that such players aren't even worth flop cbetting? Just ch/f without a strong hand?

Don't try to make people fold pairs in spots like this. Guys like that don't fold.

You also want to post fr hands in fr forums.

Also, don't just look at pf stats. play continues after the flop. How much does he give up? How often does he raise?

It's Rush, so I'm lucky when I have enough of a sample for anybody for pf stats. I would look him up, but after converting and posting the hand I have no idea who it was.
