You could restate this as:
"PT3 doesn't have some of the default stats you might want for HU, so you *have* to use their stat creation ability in order to get them on your hud, where HM just has most of those built in"
I created a bunch of custom stats in PT3, but the only ones I created that weren't built right into HM are the ones that I created to break down cbet percentages by position. Which was nice to have, but not massively necessary by any means.
So unless you have a huge list of very useful stats that you were able to create in PT3 that HEM doesn't have built-in, I would say the stat creation in PT3 is more of a bane than a boon, because it gave the developers a perfect excuse to not build in a lot of stats that you would realistically want to be able to see.
