Hello, I have been playing on Bovada $5nl.
My question is should I be playing a polarized range here? I know it is probably villain and position depended and there are always certain exception, but as a rule of thumb is this a good route to take?

at risk of talking about 5nl and being wrong when i am currently playing 2nl i would say that you probably don't need to worry about polarized ranges at 5nl

edit: what i mean is, raise value, cbet a lot and steal all the blinds

Well I was thinking with a polarized range I can get in with good value with the top end oif my range. And call with proper odds against deep stacks with rags, as so many people slowplay thier monsters, when I'm getting good odds I have a chance to draw out on them.

don't play rags. just open a stronger range, play aggresively on the flop, call pre with pairs, play SCs multiway.

if you're talking about playing rags to try and catch a weird/disguised two pair, don't do that. it doesn't take much of a bet for you to be priced out of your 5 outs, it's on a par to chasing gutshots...not profitable.

I said rags meaning SC's and low pairs, right now I am not playing all pp's unless it is a multiway pot with some deepstacks and I'm priced in. Same thing with low sc's. Just thinking hands like ATo,Q9s,KTo would be a good hand to stay away from in ep-mp in an unopened pot.

well it depends on the exact position and what the players left to act are like. just auto muckign ATo in MP as standard seems awful though

Well as I stated before it is obviously table dependent. It just seems like if were at a table full of rocks (I would probably change tables), but if I were to open ATo in mp for say 2.5-3Xbb and got a caller that has position on me how would I react to a flop like A67r. A donk bet maybe, if villain has a high fold to cbet. But let's say he is more around 50/30 cbet playing premiums only. Then I can't bet and I would have to fold to a 1/2 pot cbet or bigger right? Might be a little nitty, but I don't want to be oop with a hand that is most likely outkicked. Not looking for a cookie cutter approach, it just seems like at this level I get most of my profit from big fat value and drawing out against slowplayers.

well yes, that's more or less the idea in the nanos

Also it seems hand like A2-A5s ATs-AKs are hands to open in that situation because I have more flops I can hit hard and draws that can smash a set of A's or a set of K's that would slowplay and stack off to me. When with a hand like A7s or A9s all I can hope for is a lucky flop, as it's hard to get value out of my TPWK.
Am I talking in circles?

If you playing really micros you don't need to 3bet polarized but just your top range as you ll be called too often. Vs who fold to 3bet is high go ahead and 3bet more merged than polarized.
