Hello,
i just started Pokerstars (play money) and just made a hotkey configuration.
This is what i'm using:

general
Num 7 = Check/Call
Num 8 = Fold
Num 9 = Bet/All-in
pre-flop
Num 4 = Bet x3 BB
Num 5 = Bet x4 BB (1 limper)
Num 6 = Bet x5 BB (2 limpers)
post-flop
Num 1 = Bet 60% (value bet/cbet)
Num 2 = Bet 25% (probe bet)
Num 3 = Bet 100% (str8/flush protect)

I'm not so of a beginner but i'm certainly NOT an intermediate player, so i need something good & efficient to start and "build" on, not a powerhouse of buttons.
What't the opinion on my config?

tx

I think you can get rid of num 8 and replace it with another bet key for good measure.

All in definitely needs it's own dedicated key, this is your most effective move at play money!

Num 8, the fold?
I put the "general" buttons at first row for easy to remember..

PS. The configuration is going to be used for real cash games, im just "play money" for sake of learning a good configuration.

Not needed for learning micros. You only get too autopilot without thinking
Also do you have a razer naga or why numkeys?

No, i dont have things like Razor naga and other gadgets.
I like the num keys and i'm frequently used them for gaming (they're on the right also = right handed)
I know what u mean by "autopilot" by i have played a lot of games and i'm keeping doing the same calculations:

1) 60% of pot
2) 25% of pot
3) x3 BB + num limpers
etc.

I have no reason to change a bet for etc. 75% as i dont have reason to.
It's no so autopilot than repeated moves as i learnt them.
I'm thinking of course, im not a multibot, im a guy playing at one single table.
But i like the hotkeys, more relaxing than clicking and moving the f mouse.

To be honest you need to find whatever suits you - the only thing I would say is make sure your fold hotkey isn't anywhere you could accidentally press it when you bet.

I have a Razer Naga Molten Mouse set up for hot keys and took me ages to get the right config but really happy with it.

Yes you do!!! You can have a default sizing but you should adjust it to player / situations.

also how did play gaimz w/o mouse? pretty lame games then

but fwiw you should learn to multitable. KP24 once said in his thread:
"This counts for so many things in life. People put their efforts into the 10% of things that just do not matter, for example someone trying to be good at weightlifting spends all their focus on having the best shoes/weights/equipment, and this 10% is just not necessary until you have the initial 90% completed. The initial 90% is almost completely covered by WORKING YOUR BUTT OFF!!!" I think this is the same. Don't bother too much about hot keys and go study basics!! This is the advice I can give you
fare well

I know what u mean But i had some experience with a very simple F1,F2,F3 hotkey configuration with F1 being the fold. Didn't had any problem but i got your meaning.
Still, a misclick by mouse brings equal frustration

Yes, i agree, but at the moment DONT EVEN KNOW those adjustments as i'm trying to establish a basic strategy.. Just i dont have a reason to. Perhaps later, after some experience, i would be able to add 1 or 2 keys for that.

never said i'm playing without mouse Even if i could, the programs just keeps me needing one. The only site im never using a mouse while playing is pokerTH. Whats the use of mouse while playing on a table? It's all about think, observation and decisions, not drawing. Im trying to avoid it as much.

It seems i gave the image of a pure beginner and a guy that doesnt work his game.
Tx for the advice.. pls close the thread
