Do you mean that I should have reraised the BB?

Yes raise when you face a bet that too a small one.Raise big.If then you get reraised you can make a good fold if you have no reads on the player.

It's true that getting reraised would usually mean I'm beat, but what if the villain calls? Won't I be faced with the same decision on the turn?

If villain calls then you are very likely ahead he probably has TQ TK AT with him.You fire another 75% pot bet on the turn if the card is a brick or even if a picture card turns up.Then evalaujte turn and most probably check

2bb donk bet isn't even a bet. Just treat it the same as if it went check/check and continue with your original plan (I hope) of cbetting the flop. i.e. raise to ~24c.

SB probably saw both of you as weak and took the pot. As played you should at least call the flop raise. You have position and can re-evaluate the turn/river.

Definitely raising the flop. It's bone dry and you have an overpair. The only possible thing that they have here that has you beat is a set (unless they decided to slowplay and just call preflop with AA, AK, KK, QQ, which they better not have).

Fair enough you've never played against this villain before, and I watched a video that said unless you know otherwise assume their passive and if they raise they have it. But all that said, if you raised the flop it could've made it easier for you to identify what hand he could possibly have. So for example, you raise, he calls.. he probably hasn't got you beat, maybe gutshot straight draw/Ax. If he reraises, you're snap folding, yes you have an overpair but he could easily have a set.
