I have been trying to keep my HU game sharp, but I am an American who cannot relocate for a few years at least. I would like to organize a heads-up tournament on PokerStars.

The PLO8 forum has done a HU tournament a few times with reasonable success. I've learned a lot, and had a lot of fun, playing in those tournaments. The idea is that enough pride is on the line that we're all motivated to play well even if money is not on the line. (If we ask nicely and get lucky, the winner might get an undertitle.)

There's a fair amount of legwork involved in running one of these things, but I'm happy to do most of the work.

Here are my first thoughts on the subject:

(a) Single-elimination unless 8 or fewer people enter.

(b) I guess we'll have to enlist people to join and sit out at a six-max play money table.

(c) Best of 5, 100 BB deep, playing at least two tables at a time, and more than two if both players agree.

(d) You get a week to play the match, and it's a double forfeit if the match doesn't get played (or a single forfeit if it's obviously one person's fault).

(e) It would be great if people posted and talked about interesting hands.

Is there any interest in this sort of thing?
