Chip dumping (on a whole) is not relevant to this discussion.

The overriding question here is...

HOW AWARE WAS ALEC TO WHAT WAS GOING ON?

A) He was not aware at all.

B) He knew something weird was going on but since Perky's story was at least plausible (transfer not possible/need to chip dump) he decided to take part in what turned out to be a theft.

C) He knew the score and wanted his money so they ****ed the guy

D) There was never a $150K debt, they ****ed a guy and then Alec shipped some money to Perky

The answer to the question is either A, B or somewhere in between C and D.

BTW: Viffer only brought this up because a thread was started and Alec was crying about getting ****ed by Perky. He also has never stated that he wouldn't have taken options C or D (BUT he definitely wouldn't have started a thread about being robbed in another instance if he had.)
