I had 30 hands with UTG. Kind of a maniac pre-flop but relatively passive post flop. 31/21/1.2. when he donked on the flop i thought he had top pair or maybe even twopair, and then when i hit on the turn i was trying to trap but in retrospect with the flush draw should i have overbet? do i check the river?

SB: $44.75
BB: $57.65
UTG: $39.95
Hero (MP): $50.00
CO: $65.45
BTN: $52.40

Pre Flop: Hero is MP with J J
UTG raises to $2, Hero raises to $5, 4 folds, UTG calls $3

Flop: ($10.75) 7 T 4 (2 players)
UTG bets $8.00, Hero calls $8

Turn: ($26.75) J (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets $7.00, UTG calls $7

River: ($40.75) K (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets $20.00, UTG calls $20

flop is fine

your turn bet is horrible , bet like 18-20

too bad the heart came on the river

As played def. bet the turn a lot harder, between 17-20, i could see making a case to raise the flop as well.

Bet way more on the turn, you are almost telegraphing the strength of your hand with such a small bet. I bigger bet is misleading because it looks more normal. Plus that leaves him having to make a crying call on the river because of stack sizes.

you priced any flush draw in on the turn.

reraise flop, 2/3+ pot on turn.

a reraise on the flop will always get called by worse. do it.

Raising flop is good because pretty much any worse hand that calls a turn bet calls a raise. Calling is good if he thinks you're a floater enough that he'll call you down with AK. On the turn, UTG only has 1 pot left behind, just shove. He'll call with the same range he'll call any size bet that prices out a naked flush draw.

Preflop 3 bet is low, make it around 6-7
Your turn bet is smaller then the flop bet and sucks... Decent value bet on river

(grunch)

Bet the turn +/- a PSB. $20 seems about right. As played villian is almost correct to chase a flush. If he has other outs to beat you than he got a great a price.
