Villian is a reg running at 24/20. He's a good player. Raises flops 16% and has a wtsd of 26%. I have similar stats to villian and probably overbet rivers as a bluff and for value more than most. I would think he knows this though I cant be sure. No immediate history before this hand.

Pre Flop: ($6.00) Hero is BTN with K Q
3 folds, Hero raises to $8, 1 fold, BB calls $4

Flop: ($18.00) 9 7 6 (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $14.00, BB calls $14

Good spot for an overbet?

As long as you balance this well with value hands and don't overdo it, I think you get a lot of folds in this spot. The fact you're BTN is great too because you have more two pair and straight combos than if you'd opened from MP or something. What's the weakest hand you would overbet for value here? It seems unlikely he'd slowplay on such a wet flop so I think his range tends to be weak and you could conceivably overbet wide for value trying to make your range look very polarized and to induce calls from that weak range.

I like it even better if he's the type to tend to flat SC's blinds vs button rather than 3-bet them because then he just has so many 87s/98s/T9s that are going to feel compelled to call then turn, then see river and go fml but probably fold. I like it.

Looks good to me, might go a bit smaller like $185 but yeah I think it's a good spot.

This seems like a way better spot than the A5hh hand.

All day man. The differences between this hand and the A5 one in the other thread are significant.

edit:I think I would actually bet even bigger than you did here. 2X pot feels about right.

i guess the overbet is to fold out Jx? against all other parts of his range except the unlikely slowplay, a standard 80% pot will achieve the same amount of folds imo

€polarizing your range might make him more likely to call w 88,98,78, 75 etc or.... it folds out his entire range.. player dependant

I like 3/4 bet better, he probably has the same calling range as a 200 bet
