I live below this guy who coughs day and night cause he is going to have a lung transplant soon. sounds f-ing horrible. And your life expectancy after a transplant is only a max of 7 years, let alone the fact that a lung transplant can't be an "easy" surgery. Listening to him is a great deterrent for smoking. So good luck man! Stay healthy and look after yourself. We're all pulling for you.

Before doing this you should have had a plan. Craving suppressors, general activities to keep your mind off things.... its really hard to just up and quit.

If you're only doing it for a month though it shouldnt be too hard. Just know that the 1st one you have after this will be the beginning of starting again, there is no moderation.

Figured I'd through out a final update about the non-smoking prop bet.

I did it. 31 days with no tobacco/nicotine products of any kind. I have decided to not start smoking cigarettes again. It was really hard to quit so I should take advantage of the situation.

Whatever you do, if you are a full time 1 or more pack a day smoker, DO NOT PLAY POKER. Don't play online, don't play live, don't play peroid. I figured that out very fast and I probably only played 5,000 hands the whole month of december.

Well thats that. Thanks for the support and sharing in my misery.

Grats!!!
I hope I can get there too asap.

With the "Whatever you do, if you are a full time 1 or more pack a day smoker, DO NOT PLAY POKER" you mean do not play when you're about to quit smoking and suffer from withdrawal symptoms, right?

btw, who's the chick in your avatar?

Yeah, going through withdrawls caused me to be on tilt before I even start playing poker. It's just a really bad combo and I couldn't handle it.

I don't know who the avatar girl is, just some random image I liked.

If you are really wanting to quit, I recommend trying to get people to get a bet going with you. I don't know why but it really worked for me and kept me motivated to stick to it.
