Villain is vaggro, about 40/30 with an aggro factor of 3. He loves to take the play away and isn't afraid to get some big bets in marginally, such as 4betting allin TT, raising/floating often.

Dealt to Hero [3d Jd]
Villain posts the small blind of $0.05
Hero posts the big blind of $0.10
4 folds
Villain calls $0.05.
Hero checks.

Dealing Flop [7h Kh Js]

Villain checks.
Hero bets $0.20.
Villain calls $0.20.

Dealing Turn [Kd]

Villain checks.
Hero checks.

Dealing River [4c]
Villain bets $0.70.

My question is, do you ever raise this river?

Thanks!!!

Why?

I think a flat call on the river is best.
Villian can put you in one hell of a tricky spot if he decides to 3bet you... and consuidering hes so aggro, i can see that happening. Id flat the bet... But if you do decide to raise you will HAVE to fold to a 3b, cause really what can you beat?

Alas, this is HU... not 6max... but i think it still applies

i'd never bet that flop.

never ever ever ever ever, actually.

think about that flop bet... it's disgusting vs anyone decent or vs the worst fish.

better players are going to blow you off the best hand on the river alot by putting you in a really marginal spot like this one.

even if the worst fish is never gonna blow you off a better hand, he's probably only calling with better hands.

it's terrible for so many reasons. it's because you know he's not calling the flop with anything we beat, and never folding anything we don't beat. therefore you don't want to bet this turn even though it's a 'clean' card for us.

No sense in betting to take it down on flop???????

This is 6max PipChip, note the 4 folds before any action. Wow imagine if there was 10NL HU I'd be there in a heartbeat.

The river gets tricky, I think a call is good as a bluff catcher. Raising seems really marginal.. I would just call because if he's not bluffing, he most likely has you beat.

you're accomplishing nothing by raising this river. you're folding out the hands you beat, anyway, and just donating to hands that beat you.

What about any better jack? You think those are just going to call a raise?

What worse hands are going to call exactly, and what better hands are going to fold when you raise this river?

If you think you have the best hand in this spot to raise(and get called) you missed a valuebet on the turn.
