Is that a good or a bad thing?

Good thing that I get more of the series.

Bad thing that I don't think it'll be out until 2023

Seems like a rite of passage before you finally stick the landing at 200. I've had multiple 20 buy in downswings at 200nl in around 50k hands or so. Stick with it bro it's just a matter of time until you breakthrough.

I'm looking to buy a new (or refurbished) PC in the near future and I was wondering what you guys look for specs-wise when shopping for a new PC. I'm not computer-illiterate, but also not terribly tech-savvy either so I want to make sure I'm not overlooking anything important.

I'd mainly be using this for online play; tracking/HUD software, GTO+, Flopzilla (possibly other poker software in the future). Other than poker, I'd just be doing standard stuff: web browsing, watching videos, word processing, etc. No gaming or anything else that's too demanding.

Here's what I'm thinking:
-at least quad core processor
-min. 16g ram (with open slots)
-SSD
- dual monitor capability

Are there any other important things to consider? BTW, probably leaning more towards a desktop over a laptop.

Thanks!

Edit: I just noticed there's actually a computer forum.... never scrolled that far down I guess... Whoops. This probably isn't worth a thread anyways, so we'll leave it here.

iounut (or similar spelling) has some pc build/buy threads that are amazing resources and he's pretty active so will likely respond to more current questions

video cards still ungodly overpriced at the moment so that's where the heavy expense will come

I'd recommend 32GB ram for solvers. In GTO+ 100BB BTN vs BB spots with 3 bet size options per street can use nearly 16GB.

The 50 Zone games were absurd tonight. I felt guilty for ending my session at my usual 3 AM. I think I tied my record for buy-ins won in a day with 13. Poker is easy when there is usually someone to pay you off whenever you hit.

I would recommend 32gb too, but OP should keep in mind that if he goes with 16 you can often add more on in the future (depends on the motherboard)

Thanks for the input, everyone.

My current laptop is still in the land of the living, so luckily I'm in no rush. I'm going to take some time to weigh pros/cons between new/refurb/new build.

So which CFP is having their students try min 3bet?

Regs are doing it too often to be a coincidence/misclicks and its' on ignition, so it's prob an MDA stable.

I haven't really seen it at 200nl, and I've played 7k hands this month there. Been seeing more min 3-bets but it's basically all recs

tbh the lines is pretty blurred on ignition so it's possible i just mislabeled someone after 30 hands or so.

Considering tables are breaking so often, it's kinda funny how basic preflop/cbet stats can be so drastically different over 50 hands or whatever. Ive had one table be 34/27/14 with the one next to it like 17/11/2 over 50-60 hands.

I have a theory that some bad players believe the "5x" button is there for 3-betting. After all, Bonition must have put it there for a good reason, right? (Wrong)

I love that there is a 5x button though. When ppl use it for an open raise, you know you are in a great spot with your strong hands.
