19/16 who opens mp 15% over 8.5k hands... i have no idea what he check/calls with on the turn... cbet flop 50% cbet turn 58%... and hes not really bad per se... just a standard uncreative tag i guess

Pretty standard "target his range" spot right? I'd bet $12.

Its a weird spot. I think most of the hands he bet that big on the flop are betting the turn given the board texture. Like if he is cbetting 50% I doubt he is betting his smaller pp on this texture, but barreling turned flush draws with pairs. His c/c range has to be AJ/KJ/JT/ maybe KT no flush draw really figuring your betting your draw. One part of me wants to bet 1/3 pot and another wants you to shove hoping he hero calls, but that kind of turns your hand into a bluff.

oh does NL tilt me so, im moving up where people respect my raises.

past 10NL they respect them less imo, besides the 4bets.

you might be shocked how often i have some weaktight reg play AA/KK this way just calling me down turn and river
10-20-2010 , 09:01 PM
thats not necessarily a terrible line

Playing AA/KK this way doesn't necessarily mean they're weaktight, just maybe they think you're floaty. And obv if they c/c turn to let you float, leading river would be counter-intuitive
10-20-2010 , 09:04 PM
on the turn this guy says "I have 89" before he bet

agreed.
10-20-2010 , 09:07 PM
i can understand betting turn check/calling river... but check/calling both is pretty bad against almost all regs at the microstakes just because they dont run enough big bluffs or value bet thin enough for it to be worth it
10-20-2010 , 09:09 PM
id assume if we have a read that someone floats alot the reason they float alot is to run some bluffs....

i agree vs an average opponent its far better to bet 3 times, vs you, i doubt itd be a terrible line. not that i know your game but youre clearly capable of the two above conditions you define

lol thanks guys for informing me of this but i'm not perceived as floaty and typically it's in rush against some guy i have zero hands on. i think people take a read based line without reads just because it worked at some point or they saw it work.

also, @ subs, youre probably one of the regs thats more likely to call/bet/bet AQ than call/call/call it. not that thats your entire range obv
