I'm like 1/3 of the way through (long ass book) and find it really interesting. More importantly I find his approach very in line with my personality. Started the "slow carb diet" today and am definitely motivated (party because i can stand to lose 20-30 lbs and partly because I'm extremely curious to see if he can deliver on his promises if I follow his dieting advice to a tee).
Just wondering if anyone has any experience with it. I'm sure it's not revolutionary but for me personally the book is providing motivation to follow it exactly as written without any deviations which is the most important part. It would also be nice to climb Kilimanjaro (as I am in about 6 weeks) with 25 lbs less to get up the mountain.
Never read it but anything that preaches anything other than a complete lifestyle change isn't going to work in the long run. Losing, gaining, or maintaining weight is pretty simple to do. Just find your maintenance level of calories you need to maintain your current weight and eat accordingly based on what your goals are.
Weights are better for burning fat and getting a better overall physique than cardio too fwiw. Not that you should never do cardio but if you focus most of your exercise time on lifting weights properly you will see better results than if you only did cardio.
It's not really that complicated. All the info in that book and plenty more is on google, youtube, etc... for free.
Also yea, cheat days or cheat meals are good...they boost your metabolism and keep your body from getting used to operating at a caloric deficit.
