good afternoon/evening. I see that the stars regulars thread has been locked and that sucks. is there any way to just ban ppl instead of locking site discussion threads? I know your reasoning for doing it, but if someone's going on an idiot rampage in the regulars thread, they've probably done the same thing elsewhere which is why I would propose just banning ppl for offensive comments.

lots of people hate the yankees for LOTS of different reasons. The amount of money the team spends, which comes from the YES network as much as it does anything else(a few select teams in good markets being able to get these TV networks is just super gay, but not the yankees fault). Lots of people just hate George Steinbrenner, he was an ass who didn't deserve success and people didn't like seeing him have any. Lots of people don't like thier fans. The stereotypical Yankee fan from New York City is a brash new yorker who comes across as a complete ******* with a superiority complex. If that's your view of the yankees and their fans, you want them to lose.

Others probably hate them because they're simply overexposed. ESPN is the "SOX AND YANKEES" network and it pisses people off. Others probably hate them because of super shady tactics in previous decades where they appeared to use the Kansas City Royals as a farm system, keeping the Royals afloat by buying/trading for any good player on KC, I forget if there was a personal relationship between yankees and royals management(this is 40s-60s IIRC) or the royals were just stupid.

Also, its sports. People irrationally support their own teams and root against others for tons of reasons.

/shrug. I love my sports, and the hating adds to the fun.

Someone watched the whole CL final? (didnt read the last pages)

yeah. I put myself on more strict bankroll reqs and decided to spend some time down at the super low levels working on my multitabling skills(basically part frustration that most 3/6 shots ends in disaster, and part realizing I tilt way too fast when I lose the occasional 20 BB pot at 3/6).

So anyway, beating 1/2 for about 4 bb/100 so far this month over ~6k hands, I hit my BR threshold to move up to 2/4 and lost 100BB in about 1000 hands and dropped back down, 45% W$SD for 1k hands means LOTS of losing.

ESPN has been showing a lot of champions league matches. I think they're going to be showing a lot of the UEFA cup too(I think I have that name right...) and I saw a rumor somewhere that ESPN is trying to get some EPL rights for next season and wants to broadcast a lot of EPL games on ESPN Classic. All very positive developments.
