8s isnt even a terrible card either, gives you some equity in the pot on the turn.

whats funny is yesterday i was in almost this exact same spot except there was another guy in the hand and the guy who shoved c/r shoved with an AF of 1 and I folded. The 3rd guy called and he had KK just like me and the guy who shoved had AQ. Still think it was a good fold.

true dat...my favorite is in a preflop 67 v 99 type hand vs a stack his size and the flop comes 589 and u brick out after the money gets in on the flop and then somebody else gets his money before he cant reload anymore

I never asked for advice, I posted the hand out of frustration at the donkey calling my turn shove with Ace high, hitting his gutshot, and then praising the "poker river gods" in the chat.

If I want advice on a hand, you'll find it in it's own thread.

It's about the only way you make money from them, especially if someone decides to bluff. Too unlikely they have a good enough second best hand to stack off (small flush) unless the board also happens to be paired. That's my fourth or fifth lifetime and I'm pretty sure it's the most I've ever been paid, including a couple at 100NL.

I play it like you did but these kind of lines drive me crazy especially after the 5th straight time I see them when I have top pair good kicker. Does anyone have a counter to get to showdown cheaply if this guy is full of it? If you call here they usually fire again on river.

No stats on that table yet, actually.

Pretty standard call, IMO. A raise to $20 or $25 is much scarier.

Hmmm I've been folding my overpairs to shoves on the flop pretty regularly. Might have to start looking people up.

My timebank ran out on this hand so I just folded, but I wish I had called. He called the flop and turn pretty quickly, so KJ, KQ, and QJ of diamonds are possible. Would he bet the river with an ace after I fired 2 streets? Anyone else think I should have called (or not bet flop/turn)?

If the flop was something like 678 I might be a little more worried, but there's only 2 legit hands that beat me, TT/77 and a bunch of legit TP type hands. That push is Qx, a draw, some random pair or a complete bluff almost always. Most people won't over-push flop with a set, bad players are much more likely to slowplay or min-raise than overplay a monster. He's not going to want me to fold my AK.

Obviously it's going to be a set every once in a while, but usually not.

srsly tho, stats would help. your read sounds good -- he could have the diamonds you talk about -- but he might have middle pair. with the 4 and 3 on the board, you've gotta fold 5s.
