Weird hand. 5c6c from bb. MP limps, btn isos, i call and MP calls. Stacks are 120bb deep.

flop is 4hJd7c. flop goes check check check.

Turn is a 4c. now I have oesfd. Co bets 100% pot, btn raises to 3x pot. I fold... Co calls

River is 8x. Co shoves, btn calls, I am annoyed because both have bare 4.

But i think fold is 100% standard b/c Co can come back over the top of the turn raise?
The fold is 100% standard preflop

you're both deep enough that a standard bet leaves enough behind, plus it gives the illusion of FE.

I mean what range are you honestly jamming in this spot? are you really jamming sets and 2p in this spot?

No true, i dont have many sets in my range but he probably doesnt know that. Although i guess i do considering the fish.

He's not repping 2pairs, hes repping monster draws + overpairs, AJ and sets too.

I'm def not overbet shoving sets, AJ or overpairs, or really anything on that turn.

I guess it depends on the situation, some situatiopns I'd definitely shove overpairs n sets.

we don't have a made hand here, we're trying to increase our fold equity and get our money in behind but when we have the most equity. the pot is $19 and we have $26.50, there really is so little room to make a standard bet. also why would we want to give the illusion of FE? we only have A high.

we can definitely credibly rep overpairs, and less likely sets given how the board texture is starting to coordinate a bunch, and even if we're called by sets/2 pair, we still have 14/15 winners, although his only likely combos of these are JJ/TT/JT.

because he knows he will still have to call another barrel. I dont know, I feel that making a smaller than psb bet does the same thing as jamming turn and imo is a more credible line...

I might be wrong here, but I just think jamming actual looks like we are trying to create FE and doesnt make sense for our perceived range. If we make a standard bet I think our perceived range makes a lot more sense. Not to mention I'm sure there are a number of underpairs in his range which c/c and are likely c/f to a lot of turn cards(coincidentally this is a great turn for both our hand and to not help a lot of villains range).

Last edited by dcredskins24; 03-30-2010 at 01:49 PM. Reason: also its not like villain is some loose passive fish, given stats hes probably just a bad nit...

what betsize would you make it then, out of interest? also obviously, this card is awesome both for our actual hand, our perceived range and our hand v villain's range.

whilst i do see your point, i think its more applicable deeper, and above NL25. i'm confident we don't need to worry about balancing our range so i think we can definitely tailor make betsizes to suit our needs
