What do you guys have on Liken? He is a lag but makes some ******ed calls. It doesn't seem that he folds if he has some piece of the board.

that's not really true. your winrate is far more determined by your post flop play than anything else. there's guys that still make a pretty tight style work well, even at much higher levels, because they play well. i made some adjustments to what i've been doing the other day, and have run a pretty steady 5 since over a reasonable sample.

those are pretty extreme stats, but it just goes to show that it doesn't really matter all that much.

hope you have rakeback though.

Holla at a nit.

I run goot.
04-16-2008 , 10:02 AM
any opinions on DroneMan84?
04-16-2008 , 11:19 AM
i agree that post flop play is a huge determining factor in your winrate and that nitty styles work for some.. but you gotta open your game up, at least a little bit, in order to get paid off in more situations. wasting too much potential earnings in the long run when players can put you on a much smaller range of hands preflop.
04-16-2008 , 11:30 AM
opening bigger range = more marginal situations postflop = more money to be lost for a not-so-awesome-post-flop-guru.

i've said it before and i'll say it again, starting players should start nitty and get a postflop grip first before opening up gradually.

I completely agree, but that being said, players who ARE good postflop should be opening a wider range to maximize this edge
