Here's one from scholarship interviews ages ago:

You're outside a totally sealed room that has one light-bulb inside, the door is closed and there are no windows or light leakage of any kind. There are 3 switches outside the room all turned off. Only one of them operates the light inside.

You are only allowed to enter the room once - how do you work out precisely which switch operates the light bulb?

This is in the movie 16 Blocks, which came out in 2006 I think. Not sure if if that is where it originated from, though. Too bad you didn't see it lol

Yeah, 2006:

Fill 3 gallon jug and tip into 5 gallon jug.
Fill 3 gallon jug again and tip into 5 gallon jug (1 Gallon remaining in 3 gallon jug)
Empty 5 gallon jug, and pour the remaining 1 gallon into the 5 gallon jug
Fill 3 gallon jug and tip into 5 gallon jug for 4 gallons total.

I thought about this for ageees and couldnt come up with anything better than;

a) you cant see the f light switches b/c your in total darkness

or

b) you cant get into the room b/c the door is locked < lol at that one though

A large truck is crossing a bridge 1 mile long. The bridge can only hold 14000 lbs, which is the exact weight of the truck. The truck makes it half way across the bridge and stops. A bird lands on the truck. Does the bridge collapse?
OFFICIAL December **** Thread: General Discussion Quote
12-17-2008 , 07:53 PM
idk, but the truck driver isnt too clever.
OFFICIAL December **** Thread: General Discussion Quote
12-17-2008 , 07:56 PM
that one sounds kinda silly...did it already collapse from the weight of the driver?
