its never happened to me in a tournament before, but i've never ended up reporting anyone in a cash game for it, because they always suck. like every time anything reportable comes up, the guy is always ****ing terrible, so i don't end up doing it.
12-17-2008 , 03:50 AM

**** 3 hundo... that is all profit. so i think at least 5 hundos. how deep were we??? was this close to a major score? and how did the last hand play out?

BSB shoved on the button into the blinds with 18 BBs maybe?? BB had him covered and called with AKo....BSB shows A10o...flop Kxx turn K river K....BSB siiiighsss....Mexican who beat him says something in Mexican talk and Mexican fist pumps

so did he buble the final table?

18bbs effective might b slightly too deep to warrant a shove also... sorta depends on how the table is playin n **** and recent hands

Yeah shove was a little questionable same guy called a 8 BB shove with K7 earlier and yeah bubbled final table unfortunately

Yeah I didn't like the shove either, but its the best option I think. Raise/folding there sucks too. Fwiw he had 15bb I think.

Yeah close either way and 15bb sounds about right I couldnt remember if blinds were 4k/8k or 5k/10k

if the blinds are capable of restealing, shoving AT otb is generally considered best without any crazy payout factors coming into play i think. its a lot better than folding anyway.

edit: at 15bb that is

15bbs i think it is fine (this is normally my max)

18 seems a little too much to me simply b/c i am assuming the table was 4 or 5 handed and therefore i would b playing a good bit of pots and the last thing i want is to b shoving 18bbs as my standard here. i would b minraising or 2.2x or sumtin depending on how they were reacting to such moves. i deff would wanna b playing semi lag there tho b/c given that it is a final table bubble for a pretty significant amount and 4 or 5 handed i HIGHLY doubt the other 3 or 4 people would b playing n e where near loose enough and would not b defending wide enough and getting to 25bbs or so heading into the final table would b huge

Anyone wanna hit up Tunica over the next 2-3 weeks... send me a PM

people dont resteal on you nearly as much at 18bb either, and even if they do, its a smaller % of your stack than at 15bb, so it doesnt suck as bad when you have to r/f

night brewwwww holler

I'm not really sure if shove or raise call is better there with A10. From what little I know about MTTs its usually a leak to raise fold with less than 20BB especially with a hand as strong as A10. Its hard to tell if people will shove over lighter or call lighter, that guy was 3 betting a lot but if I raise small I lose some of my fold equity so it's kind of awkward. A10 isn't a monster so I'd rather take it down a little more often

The table was actually pretty laggy so I couldn't steal as much as I wanted to late

if i have AT and 18bb at a 4 or 5 handed table (assuming i have not been playing like an utter nit and assuming villian has not been an utter nit) then i would make it 2.2x and call a resteal shove. with that few people at the table my image would b pretty subpar (which means people will b restealing much wider obv) and i just think AT is too good to fold this shallow and given that i think they will be restealing with a reasonable frequency
12-17-2008 , 04:41 AM
well i think it just depends who's behind you. when you have a borderline hand and a restealing sized stack, with good players behind you, i think its better to just shove what you can. with bad players behind you that wont resteal agressively and play bad postflop, then its a pretty easy raise i think. also i think sometimes its correct to fold even if you have an inexploitable shove if you have a big edge on the players at your tablle.

i think at that raise size/stack size AT won't match up well vs. most guys.
