Directing where your refund goes is such B.S. (at least in the USA it is/would be).

The government can (and in California does) simply shift general funds that used to go to XYZ somewhere else once you direct some money to XYZ.

Bush, Sr. is, as you say, a confirmed bad ass, so there's no doubting his capabilities. What I would ask, though, is WTF did he do for the CIA? I mean, post WW2, he basically went into the oil business and from there into politics. There was not a lot of time for him to be engaged in covert ops in his post WW2 life.
The CIA had a lot of "legitimate" businesses at that that time. Bush ran Zapata for them, providing a "beard" for money transfers, like for the Bay of Pigs. He wasn't covert, he just was capable of looking the other way when certain things needed to be done and keeping his mouth shut.

Yeah, I'm sure he would be capable of doing his part as long as the CIA would make sure he had an ample supply of snow

Regarding the tax issue, how many of you microstakes players report the money you make playing poker?

Most of the EU anyway.

I take great pleasure that with poker I'm able to arrange my taxes so that I pay minimal towards the "let's bomb people in other countries and why not give lots of money to the chumps who caused economic meltdown" fund.

One of my goals in life is to leave a massive tax bill unpaid.

Going to try pan-frying some shrimp with bananas and apples and cinnamon with a little butter...totally different thing I thought of while bicycling, hopefully it turns out good.

I'd be interested in a TR on this; I like all of those ingredients, but mixing them together like this sounds like a disaster. Let me know if it works out.

Do you just file as normal gambling winnings and total up all your sessions? And what percentage is the tax?

Just curious and again was wondering what others do.
