We stopped in the last time we were up. The chicken was solid, I thought, but the ribs and collard greens were ****ing amazing.

I'm road-tripping to visit my buddy from college who lives in Minneapolis next week and he highly suggested this. Being from IL, hearing state fair usually implies some corny fest in a po-dunk down in the middle of the state with a bunch of carnies and fat county bumpkins. /stereotypical rant

Is it really that fun?

We're going to Target Field to see Rangers/Twins instead of the fair...worth it?

Target Field is DEFINITELY worth it, i love that place.

The State Fair is cool to go to, i enjoy midway games and fried food and there are plenty of both. It's also unprecedented people watching, each day hundreds of thousands flock and you're guaranteed to see the best and worst out there

To the technical peeps out there, is 3GB of ram enough to run windows 7 for 24 tables with HEM and a CR video/pandora running without LAG on a Dell Inspiron 1521?

You'll need 64 bit version of Windows 7 if you want to take advantage of more than 3 GB of ram.

thats true (I have the 64bit version and forgot if there were other bit versions out there =) )

LOL, now I have to go home and try to figure out how many bits I have.

Control panel / system.

If it doesn't say 64, it is 32.

On another note, if 16 - 24 tabling I used to raise A3s UTG b/c I never had the patience to wait for w.e. people call "premiums" playing 4 tables I just suck.

First "official" print review of my joint!

http://www.gazette.net/stories/08252...4939_32540.php

Edit: Wasn't really a huge fan of the photo they chose for the web version but the print version looks sweet. Also, first time I've picked up a print copy of a newspaper in a LONG time.

Also, took my g/f to the Hollywood Casino in Charles Town, West Virginia last night as part of her 30th birthday present. (Actually her idea- lol)

Amazingly it only took 75 minutes from downtown DC. The attached hotel was A++ for $100 and the casino was fine- not quite enough pits open for blackjack and craps on a Sunday night, but that was a minor grip.

Their new poker room was spreading plenty of $1/2 and $2/5 games, and two 5/10 games (at 10pm on a Sunday night.) Poker room is out of the way, but good enough. Definitely check it out if you are down here.

I order pick-up for lunch from this Chinese place near me at least once a week. Their beef and broccoli lunch special comes with chicken fried rice and a Coke for ~$8 and it's basically two full meals (lunch/dinner). I'm usually the only person ordering at like 2:30pm during the week so whenever I call, the same dude answers and we both kind of laugh as he knows exactly what I'm going to order.

Ah, to be an established local again
