I am about to undergo the sickest prop-bet of Welcome Week.
Beat, it involves poker. Brag, the guy is a huge idiot and basically this will be the easiest $$ ever.

First what led to this bet...

A poker playing accquantice of mine, is just going to college for his first yer, this year. He doesn't think its possible to still play lots of hands while away at school, and he is especially stressed out because he wants to clear two bonuses by end of month and w/ welcome week approaching he thinks its impossible to get the hands in...

I told him its easy to get hands in while up at school and one thing leads to another and an argument ensues and basically it leads to him calling me a loser and saying Im stupid for putting poker first, etc.

So ironically, he wants to settle this w/ little bet. And these are his terms and his bet that I have chosen to accept...

30k hands during welcome week
Must run at 8bb/100
3:1 on $750
If I lose or come short of the goal, the money earned during my attempt to complete the goal, half goes to him. Example, If I fail to meet the goal by 5k hands or I don't meet the 8bb/100 requirment, he gets 1/2 of the money earned (assuming its a possitive figure). This is still being discussed, and for this to take effect, Im asking for greater odds. Hoping to get 5:1 if he throws this clause into the mix
I have to do this at NL50 or higher.

So basically my welcome week schedule is going to be as follows...Wake up hungover, take bong rips, play a 6-8 hour session, go out for night. Repeat.

Also, this kid who I have taken the bet w/ is a huge lifefish and this about to be the easiest $$$ ever

Play 20 tables of $50NL at Stars + FTP. This should take you 20-25 hours.

Oh, and run good...

I'm off to the land of the free for a few weeks to visit family, eat fast food, and buy crap at Wal Mart. Yeeeeee haaaaaaaw.

The hurricane was pretty boring. A little wind, a little rain. Good for my travel plans but I am actually somewhat disappointed...I was looking forward to a little bit of destruction.

This could be my best month this year if I have a good second half.

Barring any drastic downswing, I am way past my best month ever. Of course thats not saying much, as I suck but its good for me.

I am +$1800 so far this month after about 15k hands of NL100. Peanuts for alot of you guys but great for me as I have never had a +1k month if you discount bonuses.

Also going to make platinum for the first time ever. I may actually have to try and reach supernova before the end of the year.
Congrats to both of you.

Man every post is <100nl. What happened to the split discussion?
08-19-2007 , 12:34 AM

I'm on a tear at NL100...games have been very good last two days. Players at the table have been giving me a hard time for being a nit? I'm running roughly 13/8/5 and am trying to play more hands but I find it tough when playing 12 tables.

NL is so much more interesting than limit...I can't believe I waited this long to switch.
