All it cites is that Tapie is not buying FTP, which has been confirmed by a bunch of sources, citing "external DOJ sabotage".

It is looking extremely likely that Stars has bought FTP and Tapie got nothing.

i don't play as much HU as i'd like to so take my post with a grain of salt but i like it overall. turn sizing maybe slightly larger so river isn't a little over pot. i find that when i try to go for 3 barrels in 3bet pots that i should size my flop/turn bet larger because if i think they fold too much, i wanna try to add 3-6bb or w/e more in there somewhere. it's all a part of my evil master plan to get as much money as i can in preflop/postflop and be able to get it out by the river.

flop i'd usually go 8x-10xish and turn 16x-20xish unless effective stacks are deeper. i guess this also discourages villain from calling twice in position with hands similar to this and could start tipping the balance into him shoving more turns instead of calling but that's another thing.

when you were playing him, how often did he call twice like this and what was river action in a similar 3bet hand? was he folding to your shove? shoving when you check to him? betting some % of pot when his stack is 80%-110%ish? it starts to become a fun game when he varies his river sizing when you check to him

Hey guys, there was a game theory problem I wanted to see what you would do if you were in the same situation.

There's 2 people on national TV, playing a game similar to the prisoner's dilemma game. The announcer says there is 10k euros up for grabs. They each have 2 balls, one that says steal and one that says split. Both will pick one and if they both pick steal, both walk away with nothing. If one of them picks steal and the other picks split, the one who picked steal walks away with 10k and the other nothing. If both pick split, they both walk away with 5k.

So the announcer explains the rules, and tells them you have 30s to talk to each other.

The 2 guy's names are Abraham and Nick. Nick starts by saying "Abraham, I want you to trust me 100%, because I'm going to pick the steal ball. I want you to pick split, and I promise you that I will split the money with you after the show." Abraham is a little frustrated right now. Nick says "Abraham, if you pick steal, we both walk away with nothing, I'm telling you I will 100% pick steal." Abraham says, "No, I'll give you another alternative, why don't we just both pick split then?" and Nick replies "I'm not going to pick split, I'm 100% going to pick steal. I am an honest guy, that's why I'm telling you I'm going to steal. If you do split, then I will split the money." The announcer reminds Abraham, "remember that Nick has no legal obligation to split the money with you after the show." The rest of the dialogue isn't really important, but Abraham is clearly not happy right now, and he ends by saying "We've lost it all then, because you're an idiot."

The two make their choices. My question to you is, assuming you're not a vengeful person and only care about maximizing how much you can leave with:

1. If you were Abraham, what would you pick, or does it not matter to you?
2. If you were Nick, what would you pick, or does it not matter to you?

Keep in mind they are on national TV, which may affect Nick's decision to split the money or not after the show.

pick split as Abraham

nick's strat (picking steal and declaring that he will pick steal) seems like an ultimatum. steal is the dominant strategy and declaring that you will pick steal is ultimately more credible then saying that you will pick split ...which should build trust

faced with a credible threat/dominant strat given by an opponent who will play steal, abraham has at least some non zero % chance that he will get the money after the show (altruism, social pressure, reputation damage) if he were to play split, which is ultimately better then getting nothing if he were to play steal.

another thing they could do is just get rid of the prisoner's dillemma and refuse to look at the balls. if they pick at random, then they have a +EV expectation which is better then the pure eq. of steal steal = ev of zero
