Newbie: Hello, how do i beat the micros?
Mattepatte: By playing strong holdings preflop, don't bluff and valuebet when you hit.
Newbie: But wtf is this?
Mattepatte: It's boring to not being "allowed" to bluff so i can't help it :/

dropping in to share the latest news. i'm on a 40bi downswing. that should really just be a 20bi downswing, but i tilt one away for everyone one i lose.

matte, bet the flop if you want to bluff. you're never checking any value hand on such a coordinated board

Reformatted so I don't have HEM currently (I'm waiting for my new HDD's to arrive to start online pokers again)

Come back when you hit my 42 which should be a ~20 in EV imo

well i don't know what kind of 'guy' he is but yeah 3-bet. Its the bottom of your calling range pre and close to top of your folding range, he can fold which is great, or call and then play a 3b pot oop, or 4b us and we fold and use our new lite 3b image to make money w/ hands like AJo.

yeah obviously he called for no other reason than lol AK, but if we're going to be bluffing its so much better for our range to be doing it on the flop.

yes its NL10, but it can't hurt to think about these things

+1, i gave him villain a note thou "DON'T BLUFF!!!".
Even how sophisticated my bluff will be i won't do it.

I understand i rep a very narrow range, but what is this "excellent" hand reader doing at NL10?

In a vacuum against unknown do you guys fold here? I looked him up and he was a BIG fish so i shoved. If i wasn't tilted i think i would made my standard nit fold.

^ c-bet on flop is too small. might peel off a turn to his raise but in general stacking off here is not putting our money in with a substantial EV edge... even against something terrible like 98hh we aren't a huge favorite.

Speaking of that, when villain checks on this flop, whatever villain it is, this is a pretty good bluff spot right on the flop, and maybe to continue to barrell on?

And the guys that say fold pre, yes i know
