Oh, forgot to update about monitor. Ended up buying a crossover 27 2560x1440 and went for the perfect pixel variety. Ended up arriving in oz 2 days after i ordered it and works like a charm. Would def recommend to others.

that seems super cheap for a decent dell. mine was about $450 which inc delivery. I suppose it depends what type of model dell it is... i know in oz it was about $800 for the cheapest 27 dell so a korean monitor made more sense to me. All i can say is that am def happy with my purchase but someone who has used both a dell and a korean make is probably better to help you in your choice!

Though saying that if the dells were only $600 here i'd have bought a dell.

i bought two $400 dell 27'', one of them didnt work well and they exchanged it for a $1.2k 30'' 2560x1600
imo it doesnt live up to the hype though, also it tilts me to have different monitors

Setting those Dells up is as easy as flicking a light switch

LLOOOLL

almost bought a used 30" dell for 550€ 2 weeks ago, but guy said its 2 years old and a friend of mine said its not possible cause of some reasons, so i didnt buy it.

when im back from vacation i planned to buy this one http://www.amazon.de/Dell-U2713HM-wi...ywords=dell+27. was also checking out those QNIX or so for 250€, but they have pixel problems and it says that you have to accept 1-3 pixel errors!!! (LOL) so i though i will just go with the dell and if i will have one more winning month this year, maybe i will buy a 2nd one and then this should be it for some time

Not all the korean brands have this. They often do a perfect pixel model and a non pixel model... I bought the perfect pixel model (no dead pixels). but yeah, still can't go wrong with a dell tbh.

fwiw I bought 2 of those Crossover Q27s that ponty mentioned (also have 2 30s ) and while one of them worked fine (minus a somewhat busto stand that doesn't let it stand perfectly straight when in portrait), I had problems with the other one randomly shutting off and having to unplug and replug in wires to get it to turn on again. I ended up replacing it this week with the HP ZR2740w that I found for fairly cheap and it works perfectly. Also didn't send the Korean one back bc I hear it's a real pain bc it's hard to get service in English, you have to pay for shipping, etc. Now I'm left with a monitor that's basically useless bc it randomly shuts off. Just buyer beware when buying from these companies anyways. I talked with ponty before he bought his and he went with it anyways, glad it's working out okay!

confirmed. I will say though, when i read about those issues online, many people in the US seemed to think it was to do with the power bricks or adapters that were sent with the monitors. Quite a few people stopped there's cutting out just by buying a new more reliable brick/lead.

But yeah, with big names you should never have these issues, and if u do, it's easier to replace.

Before anyone rush buys, there are posts at the beginning of the Jan HS thread about new, cheap very high res 28" monitors from Asus & Dell.

(That said, I'm with Arggg, and will probably end up paying a premium for another Dell 2711 cuz I want it to match perfectly.)

Big question wit those 4k monitors is what kind of gpu they need bc I would assume 90% of current comps and laps will not make them work...

yeah, there's also another issue with those 4k monitors in that they only have a 30Hz refresh rate. so it's actually pretty limiting what you can do with them. Gaming for example would likely be pretty awful.

sure, but if the dell goes kaputt, i ship it to them and get a new one cause i will have 3 years warrenty...

saw the ebaylink for the qnix and they r just saying that for the price of 250€ u have to expect 1-3 dead pixels!! + the shipping is pretty expensive. but def a good choice aswell, but imo overall not much cheaper then the dell for 460 incl free shipping and 3 years warrenty.

Yeah, if u really can take advantage of teh waranty dell might be better option but if u in a 3rd world country and thing goes kaputt there is no dell to send to and if u send it international u have to bribe teh customs for at least 100bucks for teh case it comes back.

Fwiw I received outstanding customer support from teh amazon guide I bought my qnix from. Wasnt working In the beginning bc I had wrong adapter and going back and forth via email (response time max 10min) explaining exactly wat I need and offering to take it back if I cannot make it work...
