Wow, I turn away from poker for a few months and this is what I have to deal with.

Freaking bots that scares the **** out of me, scripts that people use to take seats before I get a chance to do so, not so ethic and not so clever players that sits on thousands of tables in order to mess up the lobby for the rest of the world...

At least ongame still crashes every now and then, some things never change

95% of mid-stakes (nl100-nl400) HU regs are scammers.
Here is my experience : as I am bad bad bad at HU, I've moved down to these stakes to learn the game. I have no experience at HU, and my level is somewhere between terrible and very terrible; so I was prepared to lose some stacks and wanted to minimize the loss by playing mid-stakes.
You know what : it's impossible to play those scammers who are sitting at 1 billion tables.
The 1st time you play them, they accept to play between 10 and 25 hands.
If they think you are not fishy enough, as soon as they made a 5 blinds profit, they sit out and ask you to leave their table !!! There is 1 ton of hit and runners too.
After a few weeks, I've "played" almost any of these HU scammers, but believe me you must try maybe 10 tables before 1 of them accepts to play more than 100 hands.

Conclusion : technically, most of these guys are bad and can't adjust ; if they had any clue of what's going on, they should see that I am still a HU loser, but no, they don't : as I don't fit the "perfect fish" profile, they take 5 blinds and sit out .
tbh I am shocked to see that those stealers are so unethical.
Mid-stakes HU regs at Ongame are just WRANKERS.

that is just how HU is on every site everywhere, limit doesn't matter. It feels wrong but it's not really unexpected or unethical, just a natural thing.

there is a lot of debate about improving the HU situation around 2+2, you can check it out.

So far the only realizable and reasonable improvement most sites have made is to limit the amount of tables you can sit (/sit out) at.

1 table is enough, then the lobby doesnt look scary for the fish, now its just silly (on all networks) gazillion tables and noones playing

I suggest another improvement : once the game is launched (i.e. accepted by both players), they must play a minimum number of hands (100 for example or even better : the players set up the minimum number of hands).
If 1 player leaves before that, he loses his stack (or part of it).

this is a horrible idea

that idea has been around and it is not very practical.

a unison of HU sngs and cash games is an interesting idea, but seems difficult to implement that in a way that actually replaces the normal tables

here is just 2 threads I found on the topic. we could use a good summary post somewhere, so if you have some free time, feel free to make an awesome thread about improving HU.

Anyone has any idea how common this type of thing is? http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/28...ocked-1121110/
Seems pretty insane to me, but maybe this is somehow standard for ongame? Or should i get worried?
11-02-2011 , 07:55 PM
they are sloppy regarding security, so chances of your account being closed without actually doing anything are extremely small
