Quick note re; HEM. I noticed today that my time setting had been changed at some point recently, causing hands from yesterday to show up in todays file. Maybe that's the problem for you guys who are missing hands?

Can someone help me?
Starting to take shots at 10nl on Stars.
There is 20-50bb and 40-100bb. On average, which one is usually fishier?

both are fishy, it just depends if you wanna play short or not.

by then again I come from the mindset is everyone has a weakness, some are just easier to find.

So question:

For 50NL regs, how many times did you move down to 25NL after taking shots @ 50NL until you were solid in 50NL?

The 40-100 Fast tables are pretty good.

twice. First time was after 40k hands and I was running at -0.60 BB/100 the other 4 months later I went 45k hands and only ran 0.50 BB/100.

Try not to worry about it too much. After your back at 25nl you might considering just doing a little bum hunting at 50nl, not fully playing just some bum hunting.

I sure hope you're playing 10nl with that bankroll. You could probably crush it for 2 weeks and then move up to 25nl

took 2 shots before the 3rd one finally stuck

A good suggestion that TJ gave me a long time ago when shot-taking is to take shots on the weekend, and play your normal level on weekdays. If you get 1 or 2 good weekends in, then start playing the higher level during the weekdays as well.

40-100bb are better, the other fill fast with nits and shortstacker.

At nl10, I recomend playing the 6max tables, it's day and night compared to FR, almost all my tables have 2 players with VPIP over 40.

20-50bb tables are WAY more fishier. You just have to table select LDO.
They also play more like bingo nights.

When you're moving up a level (say 10nl to 25nl like I want too) did/would you just add a cpl 25nl tables to your normal stake, or would you play only 25nl tables?

I'm currently breaking even pretty much at 10nl FR, and it's reg-infested almost every time I get on to play. There's always times where there's good tables, but then there's like 6 or 7 of us trying to take $ from the 2 or 3 fish sitting with us.

Is 25nl FR any different, or should I expect the same thing?
08-16-2010 , 02:09 AM
expect the same thing. There's still fish. It only gets worse as you move up as far as I have seen. But honestly there is still a good amount of fish @ 25NL.

How many hands do you have at 50nl? If you have a decent # of hands there should be at least a small list of bad regs and bad frequent recreational players. Do not be afraid to give up on entering the table if you do not have a good position, just rejoin the waiting list.

There are a few more advanced options, but I cannot give everything away to a guy new to the ps regs thread

There are a lot of fish at 25nl. But the term fish is scalable to one's abilities. One's fish for a good player at a level is a can be a nonfish to one new to a level with not quite the same skill level. There are also regs(some here) I have at 25nl that are considered good regs to most and once by me, but now since I found their weakness(s) in certain areas I consider them fishy when I put them or find them in certain situations.

Now if you are simply referring to guys playing 35% and above as fish, yes there are plenty of them at 25nl.
