^ all those shows are great minus prison break.

check out deadwood sometime, and if you like vulgar comedy eastbound and down is absolutely hilarious. both are hbo shows.

anyone seen oz?

Wire is obviously the world's best show (with subtitles), but I'm really regretting committing to Prison Break. The acting hurts my eyes and ears.

prison break season 3 was so so bad and season 4 was juss comical. felt like i had to watch how they ended it though even if it was terrible... same way i feel about entourage when i watch new eps ;/.

the new season of entourage has been pretty good minus the first couple episodes imo
09-11-2010 , 03:22 PM
i haven't seen season 7 of entourage but it seemed like they more or less wrapped everything up in the season 6 finale.

Loved the Wire (on series 4 now), 6ft Under, Dexter, Prison Break, the list goes on. Now watching MadMen and have just bought Breaking Bad box set. As a chemist I might use Breaking Bad as an instructional DVD on how to increase my earnings should this roughspell on the poker continue.
I think Breaking Bad is one of the best tv shows i've watch since The Wire(probably #1 on my list) and deeper it goes, better it becomes. Can't wait for season 4 next summer. Dexter def in my top 5, 6ft Under very good also.

Prison Break is like Weeds, season 1 rocks, but the other seaons suck.

Mad Men and Sopranos are next when i'm done with Criminal Minds.

Deadwood was stopped after 2 or 3 seaons i think, anyway b4 the show was over, never watched it but I heard very good comments on it, I might give it a shot

+1 for Eastbound and Down but I think I prefer How I Met Your Mother and The Big Bang Theory. Community and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia are very good comedy tv shows also.

Anyone want to 3 table 200nl hu in a bit? PM me if you want to. I'd like to play for at least an hour but we can set a stop loss at 10buyins if you'd like.

Btw, not doing this to start a grudge match or anything. I just want to get a hu sesh in vs a reg. I want it to be a learning experience/whatever.

I'm not going to turn anyone down for it but I would like to get playing within 30 minutes. So yeah, hit me up via pm.

i don't consider a good tv series a waste of time at all. As a matter of fact, they have made my think a lot and have shaped my beliefs in a number of ways. Time well spent imo.

I'm in the boat that TV is a waste of time. I try to avoid. However I enjoy educationally geared shows.

But this makes me curious, what series?

basically every series I watch I get something valuable out of it.

the wire - learned about some of the problems with education system, politics, government, etc. etc. I think it's portrayed pretty accurately.

sopranos - tony's set of morals is not so bad a lot of the time, and made me rethink a lot of morals/ethics type stuff

star trek as well has a ton of interesting episodes that involve topics like business ethics, medical ethics, kantian vs. utilitarian philosophy (they always take the kantian route which pisses me off), foreign policy, and a ****load of other stuff.

all you have to do is put yourself in a character's position and think about what you would do in their dilemma (and there's always a dilemma), then some things are illuminated for you.

not to mention tv is great entertainment and gives me happiness, and that in and of itself is not a waste of time at all. However, if you get bored all the time watching TV, than I guess it's just not for you.

I don't even watch much tv at all. i never ever channel surf, and usually watch series' on my computer.
