The one negative I can see is that we devalue the nut portion of our positional 3b range. AA will have the same success as 72o.

lol...I'm def a spewtard. FPS creeps in when I pull this crap and end up hitting a weak TP.

Solid advice.

Actually, your maximizing your value with both AA and 72 here. The difference is that your never winning a big pot with AA. It also inflates your 3 bet stats so you look looser/crazier to regs.

Another really good trick against MR set miners - when you hit a top pair type hand, instead of betting 1/2 pot or something, bet 2-3BB. You lose less when they hit a set, are still giving them improper odds to call with their 2 outer, and can often get a couple of streets of value. If they fold to a 2BB bet, that's fine to, because now you can C-bet 2BB's.

Make sure you don't just stay in Veradero (guessing that's where you are headed as that's the part with the best beaches). Cubans are not actually even allowed into that zone so although its nice you don't see much different to any other beach resort.

Havana is cool, and other bits of the country like Trinidad are nice too. Didn't go to Santiago de Cuba which people say is very interesting, but is not so easy to get too.

I'm sure you will enjoy.

Also if you are going with a wife/girlfriend they like the Tropicana type dancing stuff. If you are going with mates then you can just look them in the eye earnestly and say "it was you Fredo. You broke my heart".

update:confirmed fish. Actually, when I sit at a table I usually jesus seat or at least try to get on the fish's left. Regs who join games late(when they have 6-8 players already) are usually less 3betting and gay, so I don't care if they're at my left. Regs who start tables know I fold to every 3bet without AA. Also, every time I get 3bet with a fish left to act I cry so I try to get position so they're just playing straightforward for value instead of just gay3betting me w/A2o to win some lunch money. This mostly applies to one 50/100 reg who owns my soul, though

I played like a ****** today. Someday I hope ill learn to charge set mining regs then not pay them for 125 bb when they flop a boat on a 336 board then bet out, then I outlevel myself by thinking he's not betting a boat or quad, and he wouldn't have limp called Oop 3 way with a bigger pair than 99 (what I have) so he must have an underpair. Ship me the monies... or not

Don't think anyone will understand this, but when I check my cashier and see all the ducati superbikes I've ever wanted, I hate life

There a new short stack strategy or something?

There are Eastern bloc short/half stackers all over the quarter right now.
12-15-2010 , 08:30 PM
they finally crunched the math and solved the 35bb game.

In all seriousness, there are a few winning (as in 0.5BB/100) 35BBers at 100NL. I guess that strategy is spreading a little.
12-15-2010 , 08:32 PM
i went from 2nl to 50nl in less than a year short-stacking across 16 tables. absolutely nothing wrong with that strategy.
12-15-2010 , 08:32 PM
can someone post a hand where a combo draw gets there? I don't believe it ever happens.

It's just weird, is all. I haven't really seen them out in force until today, since FTP raised the min table buy-in.
12-15-2010 , 08:36 PM
gutshots > combos

you know it's true.
12-15-2010 , 08:36 PM
oh i see. you have to be on the losing side.

it's so ****ing true what vanessa selbst said...if you flop a big combo, you somehow feel more entitled to the pot. ha.
