Certainly dont want to kick a guy when he is running bad as i know what its like but you really shouldnt have your whole roll in play at any one time. Why not drop down a level and rebuild a little and come straight back up. Not trying to be a dick with what ive said just some friendly advice
10-06-2009 , 01:47 AM
Well I have to move down to 25NL anyway cause I can't 16 table with my current roll

whatsup peeps

i've been reading 2+2 for years but never posted. and ive been lurking (is what you kids call it i think) this thread in particular for while. you guys have been helpful and since ive been trying to take poker more serious lately, i have realized i may need help of a more interactive nature. so i figure id start posting. also, id be remiss if i didnt say thank you. ive made some adjustments recently. for example, i'm a natural nit and have slowly changed myself from a 12/5/1(3bet) to about a 13/8/3. yeah yeah. still a nit.

background - lately ive been playing mostly on FT and mostly micro full ring (mostly cap and PL). i have about 130k hands total at the quarter and about 30-40k at the fifty (various sites over the last couple of years). i have run about 1.80-2.20 PTBB/100. hopefully this will increase.

that being said, id like to post a series of hands that occurred tonight in rapid succession. id like to gauge the tilt-meter, as they happened close together. and to see if someone else sees the same mistakes i do.

any help is appreciated. cool if someone lets me know if i posted these in the correct format.

thanks

these occurred during rapid fire during a stretch of nine hands, all at the same table, all mixed up with the same guy who was over 60+ hands a 49v/0pr/.27af. super loose passive. also, i was eight tabling (usually play 6-9 tables).

Please only 1 hand per thread and then just post it into the Micro section. This way you will get much more responses.

And just leave the spoiler because you will get better discusion when nobody(besides you) know the result of the hand.

#1 hand: Pot bet flop and turn to valuetown this fish. River is just a cooler I think.

#2 hand: I do not like the reraise on the flop so much b/c you comitted your self on an ugly board with just an overpair. I think just flatting here is okay. As played the raise on the Turn is pretty bad with a fourth straight card out there. You beat here nothing anymore besides a bluff and when a passive fish bets out so small they have most of the times the nuts.

#3 hand: Fold pre. Raise Turn more. Pushing this river is not necessary I hink (what will fish obv have?). Is anybody playing c/f here?

thanks for replying.

looking back now..

1) maybe defensive bet (like $5) on river? but then i'm getting 6-1 to call if he raises. screwed no matter what i guess. i can only beat JJ TT 99. he limped call pre. k6o..

2) poor pot control with the raise. i was steamy. the third guy (also a 50%er) was in the pot. i figured i was ahead. but didnt mind them both folding of course. agreed on turn. raise was bad. call the tiny bet and hopes he bets weird tiny bet on river. too much nlCAP lately has made me rusty at full stack poker.

3) it was PLH so that was the full raise. maybe better to check call the river. he was so loose, i can put him on too many hands i can beat to fold i think - JT J8 set. of course, he's so passive he checks those hands.

it's hard to go to sleep when you're stuck 4bi and tables are littered with people playing 40%+ vpip

which one of u guise cracked my kangs with dem bitches yesterday ?
i am running bad enough against fish, dont need 2 outers from regs aight.

Hand 3, you priced the flush draw out, but he called anyways and got lucky. It was a good play that turned out poorly for you. There's no way you fold the river. That's poker. Sometimes bad play gets rewarded and good play gets punished. It's irritating, but, hey, if I am going to lose, I want to lose by being sucked out on by someone who is chasing. You gave him like 2.75-1 implied odds on a 4-1 draw. You WANT them to make this call. Yeah, this particular time you lost money, but over the long run, you'll be the winner in this type of situation. It's hard to take a long term view when you're running bad, but you just have to take a deep breath and keep grinding or turn off the game and do something else.
