Edited to add MacGyver was an old TV show where the hero would defeat the bad guys with a paperclip, two pieces of scotch tape, and a swiss army knife. Now synonymous with smart, crafty, tricky.

Well, noticed a lot of regs with like 9% 3bet on the BTN tonight. Was gonna find and post some hands because I really dont know what to do to this with say TT/JJ/AK/AQ

This actually works pretty well since nobody is ever adapting, and once they finally fight back you have AA if you run a bit good in the game flow

zomg, this hand was so funny. I was playing too many tables and I got AA and a set on other tables, so when he called me on the flop I just gave up to focus on playing the other tables:

Full Tilt Poker $0.50/$1 No Limit Hold'em - 9 players
The Official 2+2 Hand Converter Powered By DeucesCracked.com

UTG: $30.00
UTG+1: $32.20
UTG+2: $38.50
MP1: $26.40
MP2: $81.50
CO: $88.20
Hero (BTN): $254.30
SB: $100.00
BB: $65.10

Pre Flop: ($1.50) Hero is BTN with Q T
3 folds, MP1 calls $1, 2 folds, Hero calls $1, 1 fold, BB checks

Flop: ($3.50) 7 7 T (3 players)
BB checks, MP1 checks, Hero bets $2, BB calls $2, MP1 folds

Turn: ($7.50) 7 (2 players)
BB checks, Hero checks

River: ($7.50) 8 (2 players)
BB checks, Hero checks

Spoiler:
Final Pot: $7.50
Hero shows Qc Tc (a full house, Sevens full of Tens)
BB shows 7c 4s (four of a kind, Sevens)
BB wins $7.15
(Rake: $0.35)

I found a new way to run good, imo.

Calling is fine with TT/JJ, pherhaps AQ. I'd definitly 4bet AK and get it in. But DON'T PLAY FIT OR FOLD POSTFLOP (if u decide to flat OOP)!

If u have air u can obviously 4bet/fold. Usually works out pritty good.

PSA: FTP, please stop giving people sets in 3bet pots or at least don't give me TPTK, 2-pair or trips!

Thanks!

I'm beginning to seriously consider emailing Full Tilt support to beg them to turn my doomswitch off. I may be going insane.

Several databases, but I think I'm slightly above 3ptbb/100 total. It's over 1.5 years or something though.

Two days into the NL50 adventure now and there are a few differences for sure. 15-20% 3bet regs are the new thing apparently. They are all horrible of course, but some adjustments is in order. Can't say I love the extra swings, but the level looks quite beatable.

I'm trying to do some research here on what i would like to call Joopjan theorem. "Whenever uses the bet pot button on full tilt, theres a higher then usual chanche that the villain is bluffing". This is based mostly on my own memory and my database. When i saw sd after being bet into for pot on flop and turn the best hand i saw is 2 pair and the vast majority is some kind of bluff.

I need some help proving this though and would like to ask you guys to check your own database to see if you can comfirm my findings. I used the following filters:

Flop facing bet size / pot size > 0.95
Turn facing bet size / pot size > 0.95
Went to showdown

Try to note what your won% at sd is and what kind of holdings your villains have on the river and on the flop when they start betting. The sample size shouldnt be too big since it doesnt come up a ton. If possible only data from full tilt.
09-02-2009 , 03:22 PM
2 Hand sample from FTP.

First hand Villain had TPNK and ended up with TPNK.
Second hand Villain had TPTK on super drawy board and ended up with 2 pair top kicker because board paired.

Lost first hand, won second.
09-02-2009 , 03:31 PM
Do you want both filters on at the same time or do you just want to examine the bet pot btn on those two streets?

Like with just the flop bet pot filter, I returned 69 hands that I haven't gone through entirely. Some are monsters, some are C+ with air.

Also, what about river Bet Pot? I usually do that for value, and it was ingrained in my head that is wasn't a bluff after calling down way too many monsters that bet pot on the river.

this might be a bit skewed because of the times we shove over their turn bet and they fold their bluff or they c/f riv but I'll have a look in my DB anyways

Take 2 promo.

My FTP total on FT does not match the one I get on the Take promo page.

??
09-02-2009 , 05:06 PM
it's only the first two tables you open? So if you're more than two tabling, they will not be equal.

I believe the take 2 page only shows the bonus points you've earned by using that promo. Not sure.
