What's the point of the flop check?

I don't like your river fold. Villain could be bluffing or value-raising worse.

what worse does he have here for value on river? and i think it's too expensive call for bluffcatching

Hate the flop check. Bet more on turn. As played, river is villain dependent but probably a call against a good regular as he knows you always bet AQ/AK on the flop and that maybe you are pot controlling a weak ace or KK and he can valueshove his AJ.. Sigh and call I guess but I fold some too.

AJ/AT. Maybe any Ax.

So you only call with a fullhouse after you tricked your opponent by slowplaying trips?

no i like to call but any time i call such shove i see FH only, plus it's so stupid board to bluff with

You did a very good job of repping QQ. Given that, good, aggressive regs will turn 88 or 54s or whatever into a bluff here sometimes.

i dont think many bluff often enough here to call

I think a fold here is ok, but you should just bet the flop anyway

So AJ also played the hand as poorly as us, and actually "tricked" us by flatting the turn. now they CRAI, on a checked flop that completes the flush on the river? Hmmmm.

There is no flush.

My bad. Still think it's highly unlikely that AJ isn't trying to get more cake into the pot before the river. I'd expect a pure bluff before some butchered AJ here.

Given no flush, its a lot closer. I think a fold is prob. still correct w/o a read.

Might be missing something, but this looks like quite an easy fold.

fold is standard but nothing wrong with calling to see if he's capable of c/c turn check here with the nuts or c/shove a made hand into a bluff

Yep you can call to be totally sure he's got nines.

your hand looks like 88+, and he can't have that strong of a hand to check flop and turn with the fish in the hand... or can he?

I guess villain plays all his boats this way, and he's playing so passively because of card removal reasons? if so then i can see why it's a fold for sure
