fold pre

you'll flop a set about 1 in 8.5 times. pot odds are 3.5 to 1, we aren't getting the odds and 99 isn't gonna be an overpair enough, and even when it is we're gonna be dominated by higher overpairs a decent proportion of the time.

As played, fold flop. We absolutely shouldnt raise here, what calls? everything that we're beaten by and we fold out everything else, including AK (which is basically what we're hoping to be up against).

Almost any >9 ... Why is club good? Wouldnt we be dominated?

agree with kontost, club hits and we're dominated big time by 3b range if the flush comes in surely

Calling 3b with pp used to be a big leak of mine. over 222k hands, calling 3b with 22-TT is a >500bb/100 leak for me in my old db

a club lets you call more when a club comes ott and he barrels
you should be floating this flop a lot ip vs that bet size
depends on how wide you open/call pre but I don't think you should be folding more than 15-20% or so on this flop vs 1/3

Definetly not folding more than that in a non 3b pot, but in a 3b pot think i'm gonna be folding more. maybe overfolding but it's gonna get expensive and i agree that there's not a lot of turns that we're loving

I've never seen a more standard preflop/flop spot.
Folding anywhere is damn nitty. It's not like he even bombed the cbet in a super polarized manner, it's 30% pot.

is the rule of 15 (/20) a bit old hat when it comes to pps? I've not played volume for a while, doing theory before i start again

99 has enough showdown value that we shouldn't care that much about setmining.

I call pre with 66, let alone nines.

Standard call pre, and call on the flop. When the turn comes there will be quite a lot of overcards and you'll have to fold 99 to a bet on many of them (as it is obviously your worst overpair at this stage), but you can also bink the boat, or pick up a straight draw, or villain can check and you realize your equity for free.

Obviously it's not a print money spot for 99 (you're not fist-pumping and shouting "I have an overpair in a 3-bet pot!"), as it's towards the bottom of hero's range in terms of equity vs villain's range, but it's good enough to at least see the turn.
