Edit: Crap I just realised I've made three threads today. Mods feel free to lock my apologies.

Villain is around 22/19 and stealing about 35%

Party Poker $50.00 No Limit Hold'em - 5 players
The Official 2+2 Hand Converter Powered By DeucesCracked.com

SB: $51.00
Hero (BB): $147.10
UTG: $27.25
CO: $15.10
BTN: $50.20

Pre Flop: ($0.75) Hero is BB with 7 7
2 folds, BTN raises to $2, 1 fold, Hero calls $1.50

Flop: ($4.25) Q K T (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN checks

A few questions. For me this is a good flop to c/r, because I can rep alot of strong pair + draw combos. Hands like KQ, AJ, TT, 9T etc are all credible and he probably has air a tonne here. What do you think of this thought process?

Turn: ($4.25) A (2 players)

Secondly I don't know WTF to do when he checks behind the flop. Should I be expecting villains to check behind the flop alot on drawy boards like this?

I think that is a bad flop to check-raise.

I would bet the turn after he checks the flop though.

After checking flop I don't like betting the A on turn.

If you are going to make a bet at this pot do it on the flop for like 2.50 imo, if you are called shut down and its an ez but effective play.

I dunno about donking the flop cos I expect to get called by all sorts of marginal hands which would probably fold to a C/R. Or is this thought process spewy and I'm totally underestimating how this flop hits his range and should c/f?

I think this is just such a coordinated board that you should simply not try to bluff or get too fancy here oop. You can try a c/r but you get called by a wide range most likely, both draws and made 2-pair type hands that will most likely call you down.

He does have air here some of the time, but the problem is, if you think your 77 is best, how do you get to a showdown without being pushed off of your hand? I think it's difficult here, but perhaps taking a passive line, as he is not going to get too aggro given that your calling range hits this board pretty well, which is consistent with him checking behind the flop here.

If you do want to get fancy you can try some smallish bets which may help to narrow his range and both represent a block bet or a suck bet at the same time. I know it's not "standard" but imo this is the kind of situation where you need to cheaply narrow his range to see if you want to see a showdown or concede the hand oop.
