Villain is tight. I think his turn check could be both over pairs and AK so I check behind to let him bet river in both cases. Guess I have to call river, right?

That turn check seems far more likely to be TT or JJ than KK or AA so I bet it for value from overpairs and protection from AK. Checking's not aweful but now that you've induced the bluff you have to call the river.

Bet the turn for value normally, as it is a 3bet pot and you have a overpair and are wanting to gt the money in. However a check behind isnt that bad for pot control but youve got to call the river call if you with this line

Folding the river isn't even up for debate. He could be vbetting worse, or betting AK/the scare card, thinking he has you with your weak line.

Your line is actually OK, and optimal against some opponents.

But against opponents who:
can 3-bet JJ-99 Pre
won't bluff w AK if you check the Turn

I prefer to bet the Turn and just committ your money.

Exactly my thinking.

I raised UTG and he was tight so I only had lik AK, KK, AA in his range. And since I thought he check all of those on the turn for som sort of pot control/giving up I thought it was best to check behind.

If you only have AA/KK/AK in his range,

Do you think he's tricky enough to check the Turn with the big, big overpar? (Or passive enough)
If not we're giving him a free shot at 6 outs, especially if he won't bluff river.

Also if he can 3-bet JJ (let alone TT) then you have to consider not pot controlling even more because your costing yourself money there too.

Against a player that's decent agg. pre and post I'm just betting this Turn a lot. And all day if we can't induce a river bluff.
