villain was 17/12/2.6 over 3k hands. no special reads. 3B was 3.8

what hand does he have here? i guess he would 3bet QQ pf and why would he check behind 89s or 22 on the turn? so do u call here?

He has you beat. I don't think he has air here, though taking this line as a bluff to get you off of TT/JJ is pretty interesting.

I also don't like betting the river here. I think either barreling turn (which you should be doing here a decent % if you'd barrel this card as a bluff) or c/cing river are better options.

Also, after 3k hands, you should have some reads.

if i barrel the turn he folds out all the pocket pairs he can t call 2 barrels with. the river is a pure value bet to get looked up by 66,77,99,TT,..

Depending on your image, there is a good chance he won't 3bet QQ since you opened UTG. You only beat a bluff, so I would fold.

That's pretty much the worst river ever to get value from those hands though. Name 1 hand in your UTG range that you are checking the turn yet betting the river with that does not beat those pocket pairs.

To me, that looks most like 22, 78, 89, or 88, or QQ. I think he flopped or rivered a monster. You cbet, and he was afraid that if he raised, he'd blow you off your hand. When you checked the turn, you confirmed his opinion that you don't have much of a hand. When you bet on the river, he shoves, because he wants as much money in the pot as possible, and he wants his line to look like a bluff. QQ makes sense. Playing it cautiously against an UTG raise. Didn't raise flop for the same reason. Checked the turn behind because it was an overcard. Hit gin on the river, jammed it in.

I suppose it's possible that KQ just got there? This opponent seems good enough to know that that's a bad hand to call an UTG raise with, so I would discount that heavily myself.

I would personally raise to 4xBBs pf at this level

I like the cBet size

I like the check on the turn for pot control

River is a check/call depending on sizing from villain. I would fold to anything bigger than 50% of the pot. No worse hand is calling your vBet, and no better hand is folding.
